Opening Doors to Opportunity

What is Transition

For those of you new to this, you are wondering what is Transition?

Transition is the movement of students with disabilities to post secondary school environments. It should include the development and acquisition of skills and knowledge for the student to be successfull in post secondary education (technical schools, college), employment settings (getting a job!), and independent living (a place to live and meet my own needs as best I can!) after completion of high school.

Our council focuses on enhancing and improving outcomes in these three areas for students in our area and providing an active and dynamic council to include all partners concerned.

For lots of information, go to the Georgia Interagency transition Council for much more information.
